The Marinelli's

Giovanni and Caterina came to the United States in 1968 from Bari and Naples Italy.

In 1969 they opened Mr. Assante on Route 22 in Greenbrook New Jersey. Which was later managed and taken over by their Uncle Joe.

In 1989 the couple moved to Hunterdon County New Jersey and opened Marinelli’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant on Route 12, Flemington.

In 1994, they also opened Maria Rosa’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant on Route 523.

Their son Vito took over Marinelli’s in 1997, while their other sons Michael and Ralph took over Maria Rosa’s.

Vito Marinelli continues in his family’s tradition and in 2010 purchased the Stanton General store in Stanton NJ and add Italian cooking to its new menu.

The Marinelli’s continue to use the recipes that we handed down to them from their family and ancestors in Italy.
